Music Challenge

Can you play a musical instrument? Are you good at writing songs?
Video your song, post it onto YouTube and start recording hits!!


Start Date:
8th Feb 2010
Closing Date for logging hits:
5pm, 10th Mar 2010
The Challenge: Create a video of your own song and post it onto YouTube. Those with the most ‘hits’ on YouTube on the closing date given above will win!! Prizes will be awarded in three streams.

Prizes will be awarded to:

Year 0-6 1st, 2nd, 3rd Place


Year 7-8 1st, 2nd, 3rd Place

Year 9-13 1st, 2nd, 3rd Place

The judges will be looking for: The song with the most hits on YouTube.


Junior, Intermediate and Senior Prizes
1st Place

$100 Vodafone Prepay top-up
voucher, Vodafone cap and bag.

2nd Place
$50 Vodafone Prepay top-up voucher, Vodafone cap and bag.
3rd Place
$20 Vodafone Prepay top-up voucher, Vodafone cap and bag.

Music Challenge Terms and Conditions

  1. Enter as many times as you like.
  2. The work should be an original song.
  3. You must perform the song (either singing or by instrument, or both) and produce your own video to accompany the song.
  4. No entries will be accepted after the closing date.
  5. The entrants must be:
    1. Resident in New Zealand or New Zealand citizens
    2. New Zealand School students and under 20 years of age.
  6. Any student found to be participating in an incorrect age category will be disqualified.
  7. The completed registration form confirms the entrant’s consent to these Conditions.
  8. Entries submitted without a signed Parental or Guardian consent form will not be accepted.
  9. The TIG will have the right to print the name and work of any entrant in publicity in respect of the competition and all matter incidental thereto.
  10. The TIG will have the right to interpret these conditions and to determine all issues arising out of this contest. Any such interpretations and determinations shall be final.
  11. The judges decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
