Design Challenge

Are you already a great designer, or like thinking up new ideas? Try out
some awesome 3D design tools, create your own design and
be in to win some great prizes, including mobile phones!

Closed 3rd March 2010 

Eligible entries (those for which we have received parental consent forms) will be posted on the National Schools Challenge website from 13th March.
The Challenge:

Using cool 3D software provided by NextSpace, do your own 3D design of:

                Year 0-6                Your ideal lunch box

                Year 7-8                A land transport vehicle

                Year 9-13              The next Auckland Harbour Bridge

Prizes will be awarded to:

Year 0-6                1st, 2nd, 3rd Place

Year 7-8                1st, 2nd, 3rd Place

Year 9-13             1st, 2nd, 3rd Place

The judges will be looking for: Original designs, concept sketches, creativity and computer-aided design skills. The full marking list will be provided when you enter the challenge.

Design Challenge Terms & Conditions

  1. Enter as many times as you like.
  2. No entries will be accepted after the closing date.
  3. The entrants must be:
    1. Resident in New Zealand or New Zealand citizens
    2. New Zealand School students and under 20 years of age.
  4. Any student found to be participating in an incorrect age category will be disqualified.
  5. The entrant must be the original author of the work entered as described in the Copyright Act 1994.
  6. The completed registration form confirms the entrant’s consent to these Conditions.
  7. Entries submitted without a signed Parental or Guardian consent form will not be accepted.
  8. The TIG will have the right to print the name and design of any entrant in publicity in respect of the competition and all matter incidental thereto.
  9. The TIG will have the right to interpret these conditions and to determine all issues arising out of this contest.  Any such interpretations and determinations shall be final.
  10. The judges decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
